Third Highest Poverty Rate in the Nation and Maybe a Government Shutdown, well that will show those Washington elitists

Yeah...probably not.

The Senate sent the House's spending bill back which means: Government Shutdown 2011 Part II.  I'm not overly concerned about this.  We've been here before and the Dems caved.  I'll blog more about it if things look like they are coming to fruition/shutdown.

Otherwise let's talk about poverty in the District.  According to the latest data I've seen, DC has the third highest poverty level in the nation hovering somewhere around 1 in 5.  Yeah, 1 in 5 people in DC live in poverty.  Elitists.

We're trailing Mississippi and Louisiana.  Shocking I know you never thought we'd be trailing them in anything except illiteracy numbers, but really you were thinking Georgia, right?  The have such financial worries they are killing potentially innocent men to save money, which isn't cost effective.

Additionally, DC just made Bloomberg Business Weekly's best city to live in list.  I think #6.  We have some awesome restaurants, schools, and the like too bad no one from here can afford them.  Bloomberg also spent a little time discussing your likelihood to be a victim of violent crime in the District.  I still think we should divide that category into native vs. tourist.  You're always more likely to be a victim if you're a tourist.  That's a Commandment, but not in the Constitution.

The Census Bureau's American Community Survey suggests nearly 110,000 people live in poverty in the District.  That maybe more people that the entire population of Montana.  Additionally, contained in that number are 30,500 children.

Let's save some money and not declare war on Pakistan, and let's end the other three.  While we're at it we should tax the wealthiest Americans and businesses.  Your company wants to be here then you have to pay for that right.

Manswers...wish they had some answers

I really do like men; I swear. Though sometimes I have to scratch my head and ask myself what the hell are you thinking? No, not when Mr. Perfect forgets your birthday (which my ex did this year) or acts surprised when you tell him you will never live in the Midwest again. No, I'm talking about a show/television network claiming to speak for men. You guys want to do yourself a favor let them know they don't speak for you. I featured Men's Health's article on the "40 Unwritten Rules for Men," and now the "10 Commandments" come from Manswers which is on the Man's Network, Spike TV.

10. Know your sports teams and keep Sunday holy for them. (all men love sports to not love sports is to be less of a man)
9. Thou shall know what thou art doing. (asking for help is a sign of weakness and makes all men look weak by proxy)
8. Thou shall not make wrongful use of crying. (only during sports never at weddings or funerals)
7. Thou shall know thy apartment and keep it holy. (cleaning also makes you less of a man)
6. Thou shall know thy man-skills. "True men have the wisdom to shoot a gun, drive in snow, tie a tie, grill a steak, and please a woman. The best accomplish at least 2 of these simultaneously. " (this kind of speaks for itself)
5. Thou shall not commit adultery with your bro’s lady. (anyone else is of course appropriate)
4. Thou shall not covet thy bro’s sh*t. (this also includes "his lady" because she too is property)
3. Thou shall know when to bear false witness. (lying is appropriate regardless of the situation, but be good at it)
2. Have no false hos before bros. (yes, that is what it said...because women or hos will be shopping)
1. Honor thy bro. (the guy code)

Anyone actually want to be part of this? It reinforces conventional stereotypes of masculinity which would never be complete without a few about women as well. I will be skeptical of any man who calls me a lady from here on out. This list actually disgusts me.
