I'm a little too excited about a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. I've been reluctant to write about this new cartoon until I learned some more about it. And here goes...
- The new series starts 70 years in the future of the Avatar timeline.
- Korra is a waterbender and the new Avatar (take a moment to mourn Aang).
- She is a teenage girl who has already mastered Water, Earth, and Fire by the beginning of the series.
- Korra will be learning Airbending from Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin, in Republic City (Aang's son is an Airbender).
- Republic City is a place where all nations live together.
- Korra discovers the city has crime and the beginnings of an anti-bending revolution.
The series comes out in 2011, and I can tell you I'm going to count down. I'm already speculating on what tributes are paid to The Last Airbender might find their way in based on the picture. I could speculate all evening.
