Save the Children

I think I've mentioned this before, Aston Kutcher wants to get in on the end trafficking movement; I haven't been too critical of him even though he and Demi flaked on the Nomi Network because I like to believe people want the best for others, and I haven't seen a lot of what he has said on the subject.
However, I try my hardest to stay away from Lindsey Lohan recognizing the amount of baggage this woman has, but then she decides to save children in India from hunger and trafficking.  This could be admirable or this could be an attempt to be Angelina Jolie, but let's look at the text, thank you twitter, "Going to make one of my lifelong dreams on my list of things to do in this lifetime! Wish me luck! Over 40 children saved so far . . . Within one day's work . . . This is what life is about . . . Doing THIS is a life worth living!!! Oh, and I'm talking about being in India." My concern here is the "saving" of children and the ramifications of using that language, which reinforces the ideas about persons in nations outside the U.S. that need saving and that these children have no agency.  I'm anti-trafficking too, but this doesn't seem like she gave sex trafficking or hunger a lot of thought outside of it being trendy.  It is also something to note that an anonymous "friend" claims Lindsey is in danger because of her celebrity.  Think any of these children care much about her celebrity?
