Thanks Sheryl Crow for those lyrics. The Global Gag rule is featured on Feministing.com this morning. This "rule" is one of several on Obama's list of Bushies he wants to overturn and fast. This "rule" prohibited international organizations from receiving U.S. dollars if they counsel women on abortion, provide referrals, or even discuss the hazards of illegal/unsafe abortions. Thousands of women die from unsafe abortions, and the number will decrease if women are informed. The Global Gag Rule was reinstated by Bush on his first day in office...could we have Obama throwing it out on his first day?
