Schools are being flooded by homeless students. Shocking, I know. Of course the article, "'Tidal wave' of homeless students hit schools," is a bit emotional talking to the homeless kids, their parents, and getting the stories about how they ended up homeless. Not that I am knocking the story. I reviewed a book, Without a Net, not very long ago, which speaks to this specific issue. This delicate balance during which if one thing gos wrong you are homeless. The article also addresses the federal funding these homeless students receive, which will be increased by Obama's stimulus plan.
Perhaps the most chilling aspect of the article attests to the shame these children and families have from being homeless. The children have to admit to being homeless before they can receive a lot of these benefits like free lunches and transportation.

Since I've been working on taking photos more than drawing, I've started a
new blog. I'll continue to update this one - about as much as I already do
