I had a moment today when I was thinking back to one of the
worst things I’ve ever done. Of course, then I shake it off, open up Twitter
and see this. Naturally, I respect the person who posted this. It was just a
dumb thing to post but bound to happen in a patriarchy.
Allow me to make things worse.
Look, I love Bernie. I’ve been into Socialist Grandpa for a
while. But Clinton being the first woman President is a big fucking deal, and
we can’t dismiss that. This is sexism clear and simple. Want to know
why? Women aren’t represented
in government adequately. We’re 20% of Congress and 33% of the Supreme Court,
and these are our high scores. We’re 50% of the population, and some states
want my husband to give permission before I get a medical procedure. So sit the
fuck down gentlemen. Also, these numbers get even worse when we start parsing
out race and class. Also, I really hate the implied oppression hierarchy being
invoked here.
