So Proud

Sometimes there are moments when I can't wrap my mind around things our country does.  Like holding minors as detainees in Gitmo for five years.  During which one of the minors killed himself.  This is clearly the best way to combat terrorism: torturing kids.  According to MSNBC, the U.S. disclosed they had eight children in custody back in May, and released them.  Of course the other four weren't so lucky, and amazingly adults now which means we can try them for war crimes.  Another military secret: arrest kids and hold them long enough till you can try them as adults.  If there are people out there not outraged by this then there is something wrong with you.  

How many countries are we at war with?

What seem like a silly question?  The United States bombed Syria last night.  We bombed Syria last night.  A co-worker of mine is calling it the "Wag the Dog"effect.  U.S. Helicopters bombed a border town.  The U.S. claims they were chasing terrorists, the kind that don't blow up abortion clinics just in case you were confused, real terrorists. Syria called it a "serious aggression."  And the U.S. took a while to get the story together. Hopefully there was some intelligence involved.  More cynical people, my people, wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't a political move...four more years! of this?  

Anyone else scratching their heads asking what we as a county are doing?  Anyone else think that eight people dead maybe eight too many?  Change anyone?
