So far, the program has been met with modest success. In the small town with a big name Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz, the citizens were given the ability to turn on street light with their cell. So far, they've managed to save $5,300. Not too bad for a town of only 900.
Very interesting, however, I can't really imagine even the smaller American towns doing soemthing like this.

that sounds like a good idea, until you forget your cell and get eaten by a bear (they have those in germany right?) on the way back from the pub (or bierklavergartenskiensgottbratten, as they're called in germany).
lol true, but is it actually possible to leave home without a cell phone these days? :)
i think being eaten by a bear would be a pretty good way to go, and think of all the energy you'd save on funeral expenses.
