Cleveland hates on everyone, I think it may come from being in a recession for more than a third of my life. Maybe it coms from the mills closing, the auto plants folding, gang violence, and rampant poverty. Maybe it comes from a serial killer caught last year.
Here's a thought superstar, give back to the team and fans that made you. I never thought James was staying in Cleveland, maybe, just maybe he'd stay and deliver a championship, but not really. This whole, "oh they hate me, I wonder why" crap is disgusting. You made a decision, now deal with it. Being a Cleveland fan is a character building experience because of Albert Bell, Art Modell, now Lebron James and I'm sure more to come. Cut and run fellas, cut and run. James made the Miami Heat the LA Lakers. They may sell out, but welcome to being boo'd on the court, burned in effigy, and God knows what else. We're Cleveland after all, and I've seen beer bottles thrown at players and onto courts. I'm not kidding; Art Modell was burned in effigy the first few years the Browns played after he moved them to Baltimore.
Personally, I never cared for Akron. There is always traffic and nothing to do there. Not that there is a whole lot to do in Cleveland either. But there isn't this animosity James is describing either. Cleveland has room only to hate one place: Pittsburgh, and maybe Michigan.
Just for the record this is what James should have said, "I enjoyed my time in Cleveland and wouldn't trade it for anything maybe one day I'll go back. But I'm looking forward to play for the Heat and gaining new experiences."
