As previously discussed, Mittens is trying to get the white guy vote by scaring the misinformed about welfare. He's claiming President Obama is rolling back work requirements. In an interview with USA Today, Mittens is quoted:
"There's no question in my mind that the president's action was calculated to...shore up his base."Romney is employing a pretty old stereotype about black people and welfare. You get it, because black people are on welfare, and Obama is trying to get them to vote for him.
A Mittens' spokeswoman, Andrea Saul, claims Romney was referring to Obama's liberal base:
"President Obama's liberal base are the people who believe the same way he does: that government is the solution to everything."This woman has the worst job in politics.
Boehner told HuffPo, why does this man speak to HuffPo, upon being asked if Mittens had gone too far:
"The president came out and announced that he was going to waive the work requirements that are outlined in the 1996 welfare reform bill. He's the one who said it. And those work requirements have in fact facilitated moving people from welfare to work....For the president to try to waive those work requirements, I think, it wrong for this country, and it's really wrong for those people on welfare who need training, who need skills, who need to get into the mainstream of American society. The premise of your question I think is women All I know is that he did it. Why would he do it, you know, 90 days, 85 days before the election? I'll let you answer that one."Of course, as HuffPo points out 29 Republican governors, including Mittens, signed and sent a letter to HHS in 2005 asking Congress for similar waivers to the work requirement. Boehner went on to say that the Republicans have a chance because of the recession. Because you know, people of color who have a higher unemployment rate in a good year are going to want to vote for the millionaire ticket in a bad half decade.
