GOP Platform without the rape exception

The GOP has renewed its official platform support for a "human life amendment" to the Constitution, which it does every presidential election season. Of course this time around, they have to endure Rep. Todd Akin's inability to speak in public and Mittens making promises. We all know "Legitimate Rape Guy" forcing those white guys forced Romney/Ryan to do some damage control by pledging that abortion would be legal in the case of rape under a Romney administration.

However, according to CNN, they nabbed a copy of the GOP's draft platform, which doesn't include an exception for rape, incest, life of the mother, Immaculate Conception, or faith based abortion, which needs to be a thing. Romney will stand behind this platform when he accepts the Republican nomination next week. Bad news for Mittens.

So this "human life amendment" is basically personhood, which you know how I feel about all that. The draft written yesterday still needs to be approved by the full platform committee today (Tuesday) and by delegates to the Republican National Convention next week. So will Romney try to change the language? Maybe, but when McCain tried Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, told McCain it would be political suicide. Of course that turned out to be the least of McCain's problems.

Mittens making promises you probably can't keep. Sad Face.
